Can you tell me about your project related to health and well-being? What was its main goal?

Project Sathi is a health awareness initiative dedicated to promoting holistic well-being, with a strong focus on mental health. Our primary goal has been to create safe spaces, spread awareness, and break the stigma surrounding mental health challenges through workshops, campaigns, and community engagement.

In 2025, we are excited to expand our mission to include physical health, recognizing the interconnectedness of mental and physical well-being. This expansion aims to provide resources, education, and support for adopting healthier lifestyles, ensuring a more comprehensive approach to health. Through Project Sathi, we strive to make well-being accessible and inclusive for all.

What inspired you to choose this particular health issue for your project?

The inspiration to focus on mental health for Project Sathi came from witnessing the widespread stigma, lack of awareness, and limited support surrounding mental health issues in our communities. Despite its profound impact on individuals and families, mental health often remains a taboo subject, leaving many to struggle in silence.

What drove me most was seeing how even small conversations could make a difference, offering someone hope, understanding, or simply a space to be heard. This motivated me to create a platform that not only raises awareness but also fosters open dialogue and provides accessible resources. By addressing mental health, I hope to contribute to building a more compassionate and supportive society where no one feels alone in their struggles.

Can you share some of the activities or actions you took as part of your project?

As part of Project Sathi, we have undertaken several meaningful initiatives to promote health and well-being. One of our flagship activities is our podcast, Soul’sPod, where we engage in heartfelt conversations around mental health, self-care, and personal growth. The podcast provides a platform to share stories, break stigmas, and offer practical insights to our listeners.

Recently, we collaborated with Thrive Together NGO for a Christmas drive at an orphanage. This initiative focused on spreading joy and fostering emotional well-being among children. Through interactive sessions, gift distributions, and creating a festive atmosphere, we aimed to bring a sense of belonging and happiness to the children, aligning with our mission of holistic care and community support.

These activities reflect our commitment to creating impactful, compassionate, and inclusive spaces for health awareness and emotional connection.

How did you and your team work together to make your project successful?

The success of Project Sathi lies in the dedication and teamwork of our incredible members. From brainstorming innovative ideas to executing campaigns, every step involves collective effort and collaboration.

For example, while producing our podcast Soul’sPod, the team worked tirelessly on planning topics, inviting guest speakers, and ensuring impactful content. Each member brought unique skills—researching, scripting, editing, and promoting episodes—ensuring a seamless process.

During our recent collaboration with Thrive Together NGO for the Christmas drive, teamwork was equally vital. From organizing donations to coordinating with the orphanage and planning activities for the children, every team member played a crucial role. Clear communication, shared responsibilities, and a common passion for making a difference kept us aligned and motivated throughout.

Our strong sense of purpose and mutual support has been the backbone of Project Sathi’s journey, allowing us to create meaningful and impactful initiatives together.

Did you face any challenges while working on your project? How did you overcome them?

One of the significant challenges we faced with Project Sathi was encouraging people to volunteer and work together, especially since we are a non-profit initiative. Getting individuals to dedicate their time and energy without monetary incentives can be difficult, particularly for tasks like podcast production, event planning, and community outreach.

We overcame this by focusing on building a sense of purpose and community among our team. We highlighted the impact of our work—how even small efforts could bring meaningful change to someone’s life. Sharing success stories, celebrating milestones, and ensuring that everyone’s contributions were recognized played a big role in keeping the team motivated.

Additionally, we leveraged personal connections and social networks to find like-minded individuals who were passionate about mental health and willing to contribute their skills. While challenging, this approach helped us create a team united by a shared vision, working together to make Project Sathi a success.

What do you think was the most important thing you learned from working on this project?

One of the most important things I learned from working on Project Sathi is the value of leadership, especially when managing a team of diverse individuals with varying skills and motivations. Handling so many people together—whether it’s coordinating volunteers, collaborating with partners, or managing different tasks—can be challenging.

As a leader, I had to develop effective communication, delegation, and decision-making skills to ensure everyone felt valued and that tasks were executed efficiently. It required being adaptable, providing guidance when needed, and also trusting the team to take initiative. Leading by example, staying transparent, and keeping the team aligned with our shared vision helped build trust and foster a collaborative environment.

This experience taught me that leadership is not just about directing but about inspiring others to bring their best selves to the table and work towards a common goal. It’s about creating a space where everyone feels motivated and empowered to contribute to the bigger picture.

Can you describe any positive changes or improvements you observed as a result of your project?

As a result of Project Sathi, I’ve witnessed several positive changes, both within the community and within the team itself. One of the most significant improvements has been the increased awareness and openness surrounding mental health. Through initiatives like our podcast Soul’sPod and our outreach campaigns, we've seen people becoming more willing to talk about mental health, seek support, and engage in self-care practices. This shift in attitude is incredibly rewarding, as it shows that our work is slowly breaking the stigma and encouraging healthier, more open conversations.

Additionally, through collaborations like the Christmas drive with Thrive Together NGO, we saw a tangible impact on the lives of the children at the orphanage. The joy and connection created during that event not only uplifted the children but also fostered a sense of community and solidarity among the volunteers, making them feel more invested in supporting mental and physical well-being.

On a personal and organizational level, I've noticed growth in leadership and teamwork skills within our group. The challenges we faced and overcame together have made the team stronger and more cohesive. The passion and commitment of everyone involved continue to fuel our success and motivate us to make a lasting impact.

Did you receive any feedback from your classmates, teachers, or community members about your project? If so, what was it?

Yes, I’ve received a lot of positive feedback about Project Sathi, particularly from my friends, batchmates, and others in the community. Many have expressed their appreciation for the initiative and the impact it’s having on raising awareness around mental health. They agree that this kind of platform is crucial in society, especially given the stigma that often surrounds mental health issues.

My friends and batchmates have shared how they’ve been inspired to get involved in conversations about mental well-being, and some have even expressed interest in volunteering for future projects. It’s been heartening to see how our work is resonating with those around us, and it motivates me to continue expanding the reach of Project Sathi.

How do you feel your project has contributed to promoting health and well-being among your peers or in your community?

I feel that Project Sathi has made a meaningful contribution to promoting health and well-being, especially by opening up conversations around mental health that are often overlooked. Through our initiatives like the Soul’sPod podcast, workshops, and collaborations such as the Christmas drive with Thrive Together NGO, we’ve created spaces where individuals feel more comfortable discussing their challenges, seeking help, and engaging in self-care.

I’ve noticed a shift in how my peers and community members approach mental well-being—there’s now more openness and understanding, and people are increasingly willing to share their stories. By breaking the stigma and fostering a supportive environment, I believe we’ve empowered many to prioritize their health, both mentally and physically. This initiative has not only helped raise awareness but also provided actionable resources and guidance for those who need it, creating a ripple effect that I hope will continue growing.

What are your plans or ideas for continuing to work on this issue in the future?

In the future, one of our key plans for Project Sathi is to extend our reach by providing health care services to rural areas, where access to mental and physical health resources can be limited. We aim to organize mobile clinics, awareness campaigns, and workshops to ensure that individuals in these communities receive the care and support they need.

Additionally, we are working towards getting Project Sathi officially registered as a non-profit organization. This will help us secure funding, establish a more formal structure, and create lasting partnerships with other organizations, enabling us to expand our services and impact even further. Our vision is to make health care and well-being resources accessible to everyone, no matter where they live, and to create a more inclusive and supportive community for all.
